Board votes to change bus stop location to Nick Street and Thompson Avenue

The board approved a staff recommendation to move a neighborhood bus stop to Nick Street and Thompson Avenue after district transportation staff surveyed alternatives and recommended the change to improve safety and family access.

Chief Burkhart and the superintendent reported the review and recommended the board approve the alternate stop. A motion was made, seconded and the board voted yes (recorded votes by Miss Bolton, Miss Mapp, Vice President Moffitt and President Craig) to adopt the new stop location.

The change will be processed by transportation staff and reflected in routing information distributed to affected families. Administration said it brought the item forward at the retreat to expedite a solution for families rather than waiting for the board’s regular February meeting.

Outcome: motion approved; the board recorded the vote and the bus‑stop update will be implemented by the transportation office.
