The Lake Forest Park Tree Board on an evening meeting approved a focused 2026 work plan and accepted its 2025 annual report, the board chair said. The plan concentrates on public outreach, invasive species removal and support for tree planting and maintenance across the city.
Board members voted by voice to approve the work plan and annual report after a discussion about turning broad goals into measurable steps. Members agreed to pilot a subcommittee approach and to set short-term task assignments so the group can report specific accomplishments at each meeting. The chair noted the board is now at full membership—eight voting members—so a quorum for decisions will be five.
The board also made plans for community outreach events tied to the work plan. Members agreed to staff a booth at the Green Fair (early April) and to run an Arbor Day tree walk in late April; the board settled on a 10:30 a.m. start for the proposed tree walk and discussed partnering with the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Stewardship Foundation for outreach and staffing.
In officer business, the board installed Victoria Coutaz as chair and Stacy as vice chair by unanimous consent. Both were confirmed without a roll-call vote after nominations and a brief discussion of vice-chair responsibilities. The board agreed the chair and vice chair will work with staff to finalize future agendas and share logistical duties.
The board set its next meeting for March 4 and asked members to review outstanding code housekeeping edits and outreach materials ahead of that session.
