Giles County School Board approves grouped field trips, asset dispositions and bus-tracking app

The Giles County School Board on Tuesday approved a slate of routine items including combined field trips, disposal of several district assets and adoption of a parent-facing bus-tracking app.

Board members combined previously discussed field trips (items a–d and k–n) into a single motion and approved them by voice vote. Items g–j, which concerned disposition of district assets, were likewise combined and approved together.

The board also moved to adopt a bus-tracking app described as a real-time parent-facing tool to provide route and arrival information. The app had been presented in the work session and the board approved its use following a motion and second.

There were no registered public commenters on these agenda items. All motions were made and seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting.
