During public comment Shirley Maxwell, representing the Kenilworth Historical Society, thanked council for approving the society’s annual soup-tasting event at the senior center on March 19 and the community-wide garage sale the first weekend in October. Maxwell outlined senior-center programming and announced free tax-preparation sessions for seniors provided by the United Way of Greater Union County on Feb. 20 and March 6 for eligible residents.
Paulette Drogan described planning for the borough’s 250th anniversary (AMREV 250) and said the committee is coordinating many events; she reminded residents that the Feb. 26 wine-tasting fundraiser at La Griglia is limited to 50 people and costs $40 per ticket, with proceeds intended to support future events.
Mayor Linda Karlovich encouraged residents to sign up for events and said schedules will be posted on the borough website and local publications. Residents and organizers asked for clarity on which events are ticketed versus free and requested a consolidated public schedule; organizers said they will provide copies of the full event calendar to the council after the meeting.
