The Scott County Physical Court on Feb. 2026 adopted a proclamation recognizing the Scott County Road Department s response to the Jan. 24 winter storm, thanking crews for extended hours of work that officials said kept vital routes open.
Presiding Judge (identified in the meeting as the court s presiding official) read the proclamation, which states that county road crews treated, cleared and maintained "more than 300 miles of county maintained roads, including access to 48 subdivisions," and commends their professionalism and dedication.
Court members and guests echoed the praise. JR Brogan, identified by the court as the road department s leader, accepted the recognition and thanked staff and supervisors; several court members related calls from residents and neighboring counties praising Scott County s winter operations. Billy Parker, the county superintendent of schools, said the road crews work makes difficult school-safety decisions easier during storms.
The proclamation was followed by a brief presentation of the framed document and a group photograph of the road-department team. No budgetary appropriation or policy change accompanied the proclamation; it was a formal recognition of the department s storm response.
