Ottawa County board approves materials management plan notice and planning committee appointments

The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners approved a materials management plan resolution on March 26 authorizing staff to submit a notice of intent to prepare the plan, reappoint the designated planning agency and establish membership of a materials management planning committee.

Commissioners said the item had been discussed at previous meetings and thanked staff for the preparatory work. The motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.

The resolution directs staff to proceed with the public‑notice process and to coordinate with the county’s planning partners; no additional budget appropriation was made during tonight’s action. The board did not amend substantive elements of the plan at first reading and left final adoption and any funding decisions to later actions after public review.
