Felicia (Speaker 7), speaking during public comments, asked the Town of Miami Lakes Culture First Committee to consider bringing a mobile historical exhibit called the “Freedom Truck” to town events and to expand July 4 programming around the U.S. 250th anniversary.
"It's called the Freedom Truck," Felicia said, explaining the exhibit is a mobile museum already deployed in other Florida venues. She asked the committee to explore sponsorships and logistics and offered to send a link with details. Felicia also described the committee’s plans for reenactments, food trucks, children’s activities and vendor recruitment, and recommended early outreach to secure sponsors.
Committee members discussed logistics and asked staff to check contacts and availability. Speaker 1 suggested coordinating with local schools for educational visits and indicated an intent to contact congressional staff to seek help securing the exhibit if it is available.
Staff and members cautioned about costs and security for July 4 events but expressed interest in exploring the idea; staff was asked to report back with feasibility and cost estimates.
