At its public meeting, the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a broad package of routine administrative and procurement items spanning division orders, vendor contracts, grant applications, provider agreements and board appointments.
Key approvals included amended division orders with Range Resources for R and R Jones Unit B and well number 4H; a landscaping contract to Bell Landscaping (DBA Cecil Supply LLC); a contract extension for memorial markers; a radio-equipment contract extension; a small contract change order for the fairgrounds exhibit hall restrooms raising the project total to $575,439.84 paid with 2023 LSA grant funds; and a purchase of a Mameca eco-solvent printer for $16,815.
The board also adopted the 2026 LSA program resolution, approved appointments to the CYS advisory board (Scott Martin and Steven Puskar) and hospital authority (Jason Hobbs and Andy Waltz), renewed a cooperative Title IV-D agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (10/01/2025–09/30/2030), and approved a $57,763 professional services agreement with Paul Charles Snyder, Esquire, for indigent defense services funded by indigent defense and PCCD subgrant dollars.
Other actions: approval of an agreement with Jefferson County, Ohio for juvenile placement beds at $150 per day; an MOU with PRC for household hazardous waste events with an $8,000 county contribution; a PHMC grant application for $100,000 requiring a 50% match; provider agreement with Wesley Family Services for $75,000; and authorization to advertise bids and proposals for HVAC, a public safety building, forensic mental health transitional housing, emergency solutions for homelessness and courthouse stone repairs. The board also approved multiple routine renewals and purchases for county operations including software licenses, water treatment contracts, and elections equipment.
Most motions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call with affirmative votes recorded for the present commissioners; the meeting concluded with announcements and adjournment.
What the board did next: The clerk announced an executive session had been held earlier to discuss personnel, and provided dates for upcoming meetings and county events. The board adjourned following routine announcements.
