The Village of Dolton was briefed on a Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) flood-relief project located east of Interstate 94 between Cornell, East End and Madison, an official said.
The official said the project carries a price tag of $3,300,000 and that design plans are approximately 30% complete. "Once they get near 50 [percent] completion, MWRD plans on coming out and discussing the project with the residents and to gather their input on the project," the official said.
The speaker said the mayor and village administrator recently met with MWRD staff. Trustees were told MWRD will return for additional outreach as the design progresses and that timing for resident meetings is tied to the agency’s design milestones.
There was no formal vote or action recorded; the village official indicated the plan is at the design stage and emphasized resident engagement ahead of implementation.
