County council honors Montgomery College students with 'Art on the Walls' proclamation

At the close of its Oct. 29 meeting, the Montgomery County Council read a proclamation celebrating the Art on the Walls program, which places student artwork from Montgomery College in the Council Office Building. The council said approximately 90 student submissions in print, paint and photography were selected for display across the 4th, 5th and 6th floors.

Council leaders thanked Montgomery College faculty and staff (including Professor John Hoover and others named during remarks) and invited students and college representatives to a reception where artists could discuss their work. Dr. Deidre Price, Montgomery College Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and College Provost, expressed gratitude for the partnership and praised the program for elevating student voices.

The council adjourned after the proclamation and invited attendees to a post‑meeting reception on the 6th floor.
