Five bids read for Glynn County's Dungeness Drive Extension; lowest announced at $789,425.50

Glynn County procurement staff read five bids submitted for the Dungeness Drive Extension Road project and noted that staff will review paperwork before recommending an award.

Procurement announced the bidders and amounts as follows: Alan Owens Construction and Paving Inc. — $1,216,634; Curb and Gutter Professionals — $789,425.50; JW Oliver Construction Inc. — $1,111,555; Plant Improvement Company Inc., doing business as Seaboard Construction — $1,129,342.77; and Shruggs Company — $872,362.73. The procurement director said, "Please keep in mind that the lowest response of bid may not be the recommended awardee."

The director said the county will post the tabulation sheet to its e-procurement website at the conclusion of the opening. Any recommended award will be presented to the finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at its next scheduled monthly meeting. No award or vote was taken during the opening.
