Village operations staff reported on equipment repairs and the progress of both the water- and wastewater-treatment projects, prompting trustees to press the contractor for a near-term completion schedule.
Public Works (Pat) said a pressure-washer failure may require replacement (pricing $7,000–$8,000) rather than repeated repairs (repair estimate ~ $2,200). He provided a detailed technical update on the new water-treatment plant: a failed flow meter required a temporary replacement and repair; chemical-dosing pumps and SCADA integration required adjustments; the plant is close to automated operation but staff cannot commit to an immediate finish. Pat said piles were being driven at the wastewater plant, concrete work is progressing, and multiple structures are under construction.
Seth noted the village sent a letter to the contractor documenting acceptable vs. unacceptable delays and will follow up with the IEPA on a change order related to Vactor truck elimination. Trustees asked about landings and fence/security progress; Pat said the fence posts were reset and a sliding-gate operator had arrived but not yet been installed.
President Kubiak told staff she expects Williams Brothers Construction to have the water plant substantially complete by 5:00 p.m. the next day and said she would forward a drafted letter to the attorney general if the plant is not substantially complete at 5:01 p.m.
Earlier in the meeting the board had approved Pay Application No. 3 for wastewater treatment plant improvements in the amount of $616,230.09 as part of the consent agenda.
