Sarah Foland, who said she is in her third month running the senior center, told the board about recent programming and outreach. She listed recent trips (Vintage Fire Museum in Jeffersonville; Falls of the Ohio) and an upcoming Columbus, Indiana architectural tour. Foland said the Lifetime meal program served approximately 90 meals in January and that five new people signed up for Lifetime resources.
Foland highlighted volunteer support (Susan Neuendorf and Inez Smith) and back-room improvements (cleaned and waxed floors, new covers, a puzzle table and a book checkout shelf). She said the center is seeking to publicize rentals and is considering a spring open house and a possible name adjustment to attract younger participants.
Foland said she had visited the Millrace Center in Columbus, Indiana, to gather ideas that could be used locally. She told the board the center has steady meal counts and is exploring ways to expand programming and rental revenue.
