Committee schedules wood products manufacturing briefing; Audubon Vermont representative to present

The committee paused its current-use discussion to introduce a separate agenda item on a wood products manufacturing report. Chair invited Jamie Bridal, identified as vice president for Audubon Vermont and formerly with the Vermont Natural Resources Council, to orient the committee and briefly summarize the report that underlies a planned committee bill.

Jamie Bridal told the panel he could run a short slide set to orient members to Audubon Vermont’s interest and to connect the organization’s perspective to recommendations in the report. "I can be pretty efficient with the slides," he said, and offered to cover background and the key recommendations during the half-hour allocated.

Committee members acknowledged prior testimony collected for the report and said they welcome input from stakeholders; the chair said the committee will hear more in the afternoon and work toward introducing a committee bill based on the report’s recommendations. No formal action was taken during this introduction.
