Parks staff outline Ketchum Libelpark expansion, Shalimar improvements and skate-park doubling

City parks staff described several upcoming projects across the parks system, including a full expansion at Ketchum Libelpark, improvements at Shalimar Park and a substantial skate-park expansion.

When asked about other parks, Rob, a parks staff member, said: “Right now, we're also breaking ground on Ketchum Libelpark, which is a full expansion of that park.” He added that Shalimar Park improvements are “about a month or 2 behind” the Ketchum work and described a skate-park expansion that would about double the existing skate park’s size and is expected to start “hopefully, early summer.”

The briefing focused on project sequencing and scope: Ketchum Libelpark is at groundbreaking, Shalimar Park is in design or preconstruction behind that schedule, and the skate-park expansion is planned to increase capacity and features by roughly two times the present footprint.
