At the Feb. 3 meeting the Montezuma County attorney and county administrator provided routine updates on pending legal matters and county operations.
County Attorney Tarnowski told commissioners that the opposing party in the Leaf Properties/Dollar Store litigation filed reply briefs, bringing the briefing schedule to a close. “All the briefs are now before the court. I think it'll probably take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months for the court to make a decision in that case,” he said. Tarnowski also said assistant county attorney Gus handled recent child-support hearings while staff provided guidance on other matters.
Tarnowski added staff are continuing to work on issues related to the Ironwood case and are consulting with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) about the best path forward; he said land-use code enforcement cases remain in preparation.
County Administrator Anderson reported several operational matters: Road and Bridge is set to receive a trailer and conduct internal training; a property on “1491 in CC” is being cleaned up and staff will provide another dumpster to assist the community; HHS regionalization conversations continue and the county received a data request for EagleView (staff will consider a fee for enhanced access); planned geotab installations and inmate-van radios are awaiting hardware delivery and installation.
No formal action was taken on these items at the Feb. 3 meeting; the reports were informational and staff will follow up as needed.
