Jody Sewing used the public‑comment portion of the Feb. 3 council meeting to describe ongoing safety and property‑damage problems on a shared single‑lane private driveway serving her home at 4925 Touton (Taunton) Drive. Sewing said new occupants at a neighboring property began receiving frequent commercial deliveries and large trucks that have turned a residential drive into a de facto loading area.
"For nearly 2 months, I've documented well over 200 commercial vehicles," Sewing told council, saying trucks have blocked her access, damaged trees, required someone to lift electrical wires for clearance, and once reportedly ran through her yard. She said code enforcement and planning staff told her the situation was a civil matter or 'how people get their mail,' and she asked the city to apply zoning and land‑use enforcement to restore safety and neighborhood character.
Sewing asked council to hold the occupants at 4916 Taunton Drive accountable to protect emergency access, neighborhood safety and property values. Council acknowledged the complaint during public participation; no immediate enforcement action was recorded in the meeting minutes.
