The Addison School District 4 Board of Education voted April 24 to approve a set of routine financial and personnel items, multiple construction and professional-service contracts, and a five-year extension of Superintendent Dr. Sutton’s contract beginning July 1.
Board members approved the April accounts-payable report totaling $3,031,123.90 and the March payroll totaling $3,953,098.41. The personnel report — which included new hires, rehires, resignations and retirements — passed on a roll-call vote.
The board approved several procurement and contract items for 2025 construction: a $303,960 mechanical-equipment contract (contract 070121-CAR), AIA architect contracts with Leggett Architects for the 2025 construction program, and a construction‑manager contract with ICI. The board also approved a one‑year lease extension for the Old Mill property with the DuPage Regional Office of Education beginning July 1, 2024 at $144,882.46.
On personnel and leadership matters, the board approved returning administrative employment contracts for 2024–25 and appointed Tara Henry to a one‑year contract as dean of students at Indian Trail Junior High (one abstention was recorded on that vote). Crystal Jimenez was announced as the district’s new director of biliteracy. Following a board evaluation, members voted to extend Superintendent Dr. Sutton’s contract to five years starting July 1.
The board also approved salary increases for educational support personnel for the 2024–25 school year, and authorized administration to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for before‑and‑after‑school care providers for 2024–25; the board expects a recommended vendor in May. The administration noted that approval of the food-service management contract is being held for May pending ISBE review.
The meeting closed with a routine approval to declassify select closed-session minutes and authorization to destroy closed-session recordings where appropriate, as part of the district’s six‑month records review.
The next regular board meeting was announced for May 22 at 6 p.m. at the Village of Addison Town Hall.
