Wonder Lake resident asks county to show event dates/times on permit portal

At the public-comment portion of the meeting on Feb. 3, Dean Fritz of 6116 Greenwood Road in Wonder Lake told the committee that the county’s new permit portal should include event dates and start/stop times in the project-description field for temporary-use permits.

"If I know when the date and the time is, I can proactively close the gate, prevent some of these issues from happening," Fritz said, summarizing his request and adding he would leave hard copies of his email exchanges with Planning & Development.

Fritz also raised a separate concern that a large building constructed near his property—visible after foliage came down—did not show a corresponding building permit in the portal. He said he contacted planning staff in October and received partial responses, and he asked the committee to direct staff to add date/time fields to permit descriptions and to investigate the missing building-permit entry.

Committee members thanked Fritz for providing written documentation and said staff would be better able to assist with the information he provided. The chair and other members framed the comment as a public comment (not back-and-forth discussion) and asked staff to follow up with him directly.

The committee did not take formal action on the request during the meeting but asked staff to review Fritz’s paperwork and to report back if changes to portal fields or permit-display practices are recommended.
