Geneva council approves $2.01 million in municipal bills and routine resolutions

During its Feb. 2 meeting, the Geneva City Council approved routine business on the omnibus agenda, authorized payment of municipal bills totaling $2,014,165.97, and approved multiple resolutions and certificates of completion for local projects.

City Clerk read the aggregate municipal bills for payment of $2,014,165.97; a motion to approve the bills carried by roll call with nine affirmative votes, zero nays and one councilmember absent. The council also considered Resolution 2026‑09, a license agreement allowing a temporary outdoor wind enclosure at 309 West State Street (Nobel House) for selected cold months; staff noted a two‑year maximum recommended by legal counsel and the council approved the resolution 9–0 (1 absent).

The council approved partial certificates of completion associated with Roosevelt Holdings LLC and Geneva Business Park and a second certificate for Geneva Crossing. City engineering staff explained that partial certificates allow bond reductions based on verified completion of portions of work; each certificate passed on roll call with nine affirmative votes and one absent.
