Michigan City Historic Preservation Commission re-elects Joyce Dalton as chair

The Michigan City Historic Preservation Commission re-elected Joyce Dalton as chair at its Feb. 2 meeting after the body amended the agenda to add officer elections.

Members moved to add the election of a chair, vice chair and secretary before approving the minutes. Joyce Dalton was nominated and elected chair by roll call. Commissioners chose a vice chair (nominated as Pat in the meeting record) and elected Miss Haddad as secretary. The clerk recorded the roll calls that carried each nomination.

The changes to the agenda and the officer slate were procedural and enacted without substantive debate. The commission returned to its scheduled agenda after announcing the new officers and proceeded to consider Certificates of Appropriateness and other business.
