The Milford Planning and Zoning Board on Feb. 3 approved a coastal area site plan review for a modest second‑floor and rear addition at 994 East Broadway, allowing owner Elijah Whitmore to add about 170 square feet to his single‑family home.
The board’s action, taken after a brief presentation and staff review, included conditions requiring the applicant to update plans to the satisfaction of the city engineer per the January 2026 letter. City staff told the board no adverse coastal resource impacts were anticipated and that the project complies with zoning standards.
Elijah Whitmore said the work is to accommodate his family, noting, “We have 4 young children, 6 and under,” and that the addition would remain within required setbacks and avoid wetlands. City staff recommended clarifications to align the plan with the city engineer’s camera/cam application and other consistency items; the board made those clarifications conditions of approval.
The motion to approve passed unanimously. The file lists the property as Map 35, Block 442, Parcel 8A. The board did not note further public comment on the item and wished the applicant success with the project.
