The Milford Planning and Zoning Board approved a special permit with coastal area site plan review on Feb. 3 for a proposed used‑car dealership at 1469 Boston Post Road.
Attorney Joe Porto and Tim Houle, the engineer of record with BL Companies, presented a redevelopment of a roughly 0.9‑acre parcel that will replace a razed building with a new 9,300–9,500 square‑foot facility. Houle described approximately 6,500 square feet dedicated to service bays (eight bays expected), about a quarter to a third of the building for office space, and parking configured to provide 39 customer spaces plus 19 inventory spaces; two ADA spaces are included.
Houle said the proposal includes new utility connections, a hydrodynamic separator and an underground stormwater attenuation system that the presenter said reduces peak discharge at most analysis points by more than 50 percent. City staff said the site is within the coastal area management boundary but identified no coastal resources of significance on or adjacent to the parcel and recommended conditions to align the plan with the city engineer’s clarifications.
The board closed the public hearing with no public speakers and approved the application with conditions requiring the applicant to satisfy the city engineer’s January 2026 recommendations and to execute an interconnecting driveway access agreement per section 5.17 of the zoning regulations.
