The Joint Budget Committee on Feb. 5 approved a $100 reduction to an IT capital transfer after JBC staff described the change as a correction to a previously approved transfer. Andrew McLear, JBC staff, told the committee, “This is just a decrease of $100 from that previous transfer you approved,” citing a miscommunication with the Office of Information Technology about the cost to the IT capital subaccount.
Senator Mobley moved to approve the $100 reduction; the committee voted to adopt the correction unanimously, recorded as 6 to 0 in favor. The chair authorized staff to make technical edits and incorporate the adjustment into supplemental drafting.
The action was handled as a technical correction to an existing transfer and carries no substantive policy change. The committee treated the item as part of its supplemental-package drafting work and moved on to the next packet items.
