The Norwalk Fair Rent Commission met Feb. 4 and recorded a series of procedural and case decisions.
Commissioners accepted the minutes of the Jan. 7, 2026 meeting with corrections after a brief review of formatting and name spellings. Commissioner Gantt moved to accept the minutes with corrections and Johnny Weldon seconded; the motion passed with 'ayes' recorded.
Attorney Russell Liskov presented active case updates and recommended closing case 1862-25 (Wolfpit Road, Apt. 4K) after the landlord and tenant reached an agreement and a withdrawal was filed. Commissioner Oliver moved to close the case; Commissioner Halliday seconded and the commission approved the closure.
Case 1871-25 (Willow Road, Apt. 206) was also closed after the tenant submitted a signed withdrawal; Liskov said the landlord had proposed a rent increase from $2,318 to $2,434 but the tenant moved out and returned a withdrawal. The commission voted to close the matter.
Two additional cases were continued with "no action" recorded for the month while negotiations proceed: case 1875 (Bartlett Ave, Apt 1) and case 1876 (Glover Ave, Apt 222). Liskov told commissioners that agreements or offers were in motion in both matters and anticipated resolution in the next month.
