Council hears update on Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex budget amendment

Councilmember Natasha Harper Madison asked for a briefing on item A2, a budget amendment related to the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex (MAIC) now managed by the city. Angela Means, director for Arts, Culture, Music & Entertainment, told council the item appropriates $1.3 million in revenue needed to operate the complex — approximately $800,000 from the city's contribution and about $500,000 generated on-site through bowling, skating and event rentals — and clarified this was revenue the facility has used historically rather than new funds. The council had no further questions and moved on to other agenda items.
