The La Porte Common Council voted Feb. 2 to approve a resolution transferring funds among 2026 budget line items to cover essential services and local matching requirements.
Councilman Galloway read the resolution explaining transfers for Community Development and Planning salaries and other line items. The council discussed that MVH restricted funds must be used for roads and that the transfer serves as the local match for the city’s annual CCMG application. The resolution also listed a transfer of $44,117.79 related to the 811 Slicer Pathway/Greenway work.
Following discussion, a motion to approve the resolution passed on an 'Aye' vote. The clerk/treasurer and council members noted the transfers meet state requirements for restricted MVH funds.
The resolution was approved at the Feb. 2 meeting; no additional appropriation was recorded in the meeting transcript.
