Council reappoints members to boards and confirms committee appointments

The La Porte Common Council on Feb. 2 approved several committee appointments and reappointments taken from the table.

Councilwoman Julie West moved to appoint members to the bid board (two‑year terms) and to reappoint members to the Fire Merit Commission and the Urban Enterprise Zone. The bid board appointments listed were Charity, Jamie Williams and Jenny Riddle; Josh Hewlett was reappointed to the Fire Merit Commission; and Councilwoman Julie West, Ryan Lauks, Colton Phelan, Cassie Q Basik and Courtney Dickman were listed for the Urban Enterprise Zone reappointments. The motions were seconded and passed by voice vote.

Council members asked a few clarifying questions but otherwise approved the appointments during the Feb. 2 meeting.
