OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma House of Representatives on the floor adopted House Resolution 1031, recognizing Rose Day 2026.
Representative Tammy West presented the measure as an annual recognition: "Members, this is our annual recognition of Rose Day, which honors the sanctity of the..." The clerk activated the voting machine for a recorded vote; after members cast their ballots the Speaker declared the resolution passed. The roll was announced in the chamber as 72 yes and 16 no.
The resolution is advisory/ceremonial in nature and does not create a regulatory or funding obligation; Representative West framed it as an annual observance to be honored by the House. The adoption followed routine procedure for noncontroversial recognitions: presentation, recorded vote and an announcement of the result.
Earlier in the day the chamber heard routine opening business, an invocation led by Chaplain Ronnie Wilson and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Representative Latrell. Representative Miller introduced Dr. Ahmed Aziz as doctor of the day, noting his role as an internal medicine hospitalist at Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and more than 35 peer-reviewed publications.
Before recessing, the Floor Leader moved that the House adjourn until Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.; the motion carried "without objection," and the Speaker ordered the House adjourned to that date.
The House took no further substantive policy votes during the portion of the session recorded here.
