Meredith Knudson, the city’s art and culture manager, told the advisory board that the 2026 SRTBIA event support application window will open Sunday, February 1 and remain open through March 31 for events scheduled between July 1 and December 31.
Knudson said up to $50,000 will be available to award to qualifying events and the application will be posted online at srcity.org/eventssupport. She asked board members to help distribute the announcement and noted the city will coordinate outreach with Visit Santa Rosa and other partners to attract events that drive visitors and overnight stays.
“SRTPA applications for the next round of grant funding will open on Sunday, February 1…and that is open until March 31,” Knudson said during her presentation. She added the funds are reserved for events that attract visitors as a tourism destination.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the event window, eligible dates and outreach; staff confirmed the eligible event period is July 1 through December and that selection panel decisions will determine whether all or part of the $50,000 is awarded in this round. No awards were made at the meeting; this was an informational announcement about the funding round and application timeline.
