The Davis County Commission opened its meeting by recognizing dozens of county employees for milestone service anniversaries across multiple departments. Commissioner Lorraine Kamalu presented awards honoring workers in corrections, courts, animal care, assessor’s office, buildings and grounds, health administration, senior services and libraries.
Anthony and Carrie from staff prepared certificates and small gifts, Kamalu said, noting the county recognizes service anniversaries every five years. Speakers highlighted several individual profiles: Ryan Treece described Bryant Ives’s 36-year public-safety career and 10 years with Davis County; a supervisor credited Jane Mulford with expanding animal shelter volunteer training, noting volunteer hours rose from just over 4,000 in 2024 to more than 8,000 in 2025; and Ivy Melton Sells outlined Megan Roundy’s progress from vaccine-clinic data work to lead health educator and underage tobacco compliance coordination.
Other honorees included Scott Shriver (15 years, Assessor’s Office), Neil Geddes (15 years, civil division), Peter Mason and Mike Jensen (Buildings & Grounds), and Tony Findlay (20 years, public works flood team). Several library staff were also recognized, including Carrie Robb (15 years) and Judy Butler (20 years). Officials said these recognitions underscore the county’s reliance on experienced staff and community-oriented service.
The presentation concluded before business items began. The commission then moved on to approve the meeting minutes and the rest of the agenda.
