The Davis County Commission approved several interlocal transportation reimbursement agreements from third-quarter grant funds and a facility fee waiver for a countywide preparedness fair.
Ken, presenting for economic development, asked the commission to use third-quarter transportation grant funds to reimburse Layton City for the Sugar Street realignment project in the amount of $2,670,000 (project term listed as 02/03/2026 through 12/31/2030). He also presented an amendment to an interlocal for the Layton Station traffic signal project — a payable amount of roughly $304,000 with an extended deadline — and a reimbursement agreement with Centerville City for the Porter Lane widening project at $1,096,000. Commissioners described the projects as intended to improve vehicular and pedestrian alignments and support UTA station access.
The commission also approved a request to waive a facility fee for a Davis Preparedness Fair at Western Sports Park (one-day event planned for Sept. 26, 2026), noting participation from all 15 city emergency managers and county emergency management leadership.
Speaker 3 moved and the commission voted to approve items 4 through 7 without further question.
