Committee advances tougher penalties for street racing and reckless driving

Representative George presented House Bill 3266, describing street racing and "street takeover" events as a growing problem in Oklahoma City and other metropolitan areas. He said the bill ‘‘makes the crime of reckless driving that causes a collision, a d 2 felony, and it also makes a reckless driving involving racing...specific sentencing for that for 5 days to 6 months.’’
