The Anderson County Commissioner’s Court voted Dec. 30 to approve renewal of its contract with Southern Health Partners, Inc., to provide health and medical services for inmates at the county jail.
"This is just a continuation of our contract that we've had in place with this company," Sherry, a county staff member, said as she presented the item and said a signed copy was not currently on file. She told the court that she and a colleague obtained the agreement and would get it signed and returned.
Commissioner Chapin moved to approve the health-services agreement for the Anderson County Jail; Commissioner Mims seconded the motion. The court approved the renewal by voice vote. The transcript records an affirmative voice vote but does not record a roll-call tally.
County staff said the action is a renewal of an existing contract rather than a newly negotiated agreement; staff will secure the final signature before execution. No new dollar amounts or substantive changes to contract terms were discussed on the record at the meeting.
The item was presented as routine renewal and approved as part of the meeting's regular business. Staff will finalize signatures and file the executed agreement with county records.
