The Westfield Washington Township Advisory Planning Commission conducted routine business Feb. 2, 2026 and handled several administrative items in a compact meeting that concluded at 7:15 p.m.
The commission approved the Jan. 20, 2026 meeting minutes on a voice vote (motion by Councilor McCarty, second by Mister Mooney). Later, staff proposed changing the May 4 meeting to Wednesday, May 6 and the Nov. 2 meeting to Wednesday, Nov. 4 because the original dates conflicted with state and local voting/polling sites; commissioners approved the revised 2026 meeting dates (motion by Mister Mooney, second by Missus Carlson).
The consent agenda included development petition 2601-DDP-03 (AutoZone). Councilor McCarty moved to approve the consent agenda; staff called the roll and the recorded votes were: Mister Jorge — yes; Mister Khan — yes; Miss Carlson — yes; Mister McCarty — yes; Mister Mooney — yes; Mister Neal — yes; Mister Waniger — yes. The motion passed.
Council liaison McCarty briefly updated the commission on recent City Council actions: Harmony PUD was approved by the council 6-1; a community mental health facility application was reported as denied (noted as 'denied for 3' in the council summary); WWF PUD amendment for a new middle school was approved unanimously; and a built PUD was introduced and will return to APC next month.
The chair reviewed continued items and anticipated public hearing dates: an Ironstone workshop tentatively set for Feb. 17, a special meeting and public hearing for the comprehensive plan on March 11, and SugarLeaf and built PUD hearings anticipated March 2. A question from a member clarified the Ironstone workshop location is posted as 'city services' on the city calendar and the group agreed to keep it there.
A motion to adjourn was moved by Councilor McCarty and seconded by Mister Khan; the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
