Schererville BZA elects officers, appoints legal counsel and approves minutes

At the opening of the session the Schererville Board of Zoning Appeals handled procedural business including officer elections, appointment of counsel and approval of minutes from Dec. 8, 2025.

Board member Bill Jarvis nominated Michael Davis for president and Tom Kouras for vice president; nominations were seconded and each appointment passed on roll call. The board also nominated Michael O'Rourke to serve as secretary; that motion likewise passed on roll call.

The board moved to appoint legal counsel and approved a motion naming the law firm cited in the record (Berkus/Constanza/Carberry as spoken during the meeting). The motion passed after roll call. The board then moved to approve minutes from the Dec. 8, 2025 meeting; members clarified the correct date in the record before approving.
