The Lake Havasu Metropolitan Planning Organization executive board on Oct. 28 approved an amendment to the FY26–27 Unified Planning Work Program to buy a one‑year license for Urban SDK, a traffic‑data software package.
Miss Lajewski, presenting the amendment, said, "It's the traffic data software that will help assist Lake Havasu PD gather vehicle speed data, verify citizens' speed complaints, and identify speeding hot spots." She told the board the $23,825 cost will be covered with Carbon Reduction Program funds.
Board members and attendees described the tool as beneficial to both safety and planning. Sergeant Burns was cited as the ADOT/transit contact who requested MPO coordination to fund the software. Mr. Walters added that the software "has benefits to both planning and operations as far as the police have an access to it."
After a brief public hearing with no speakers, Council Member Coke moved to approve the UPWP amendment and Council Member Campbell seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The amendment also included administrative updates: Miss Lajewski said she will update her job title to MPO director and the MPO logo in the work program packet. The board did not impose additional conditions; next steps are implementation and coordination between MPO staff and Lake Havasu Police Department on data collection.
