Court tables decision on courthouse annex façade RFP pending plan approval

Titus County commissioners voted to table consideration of an RFP for the annex façade across the street from the courthouse so the court can formally approve the architect's plans and specifications.

Staff explained the typical process: the court approves architectural plans and a spec packet, then staff publishes the RFP and selects a general contractor. Several commissioners said the plans had been distributed but were not listed on the agenda for formal approval. Presiding Official said the court should take up plan approval and the RFP together.

Commissioner Parker moved to table the RFP and address plan approval at the next court meeting; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

No contract award or expenditure was authorized at this meeting; commissioners asked staff to place plan approval and the RFP on a future agenda so the public and contractors have access to the specifications before bidding.
