Commissioners note appointments and public-comment procedures; provide snow/ice reporting contacts

The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners reviewed appointments and reminded residents how to participate in meetings during its Jan. 28 synopsis.

Unidentified Speaker said the meeting covered appointments to the Commission for Women, the Ethics Commission, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Board of Library Trustees and the Environmental Commission, and that the board conducted an annual review of its representatives. Citizens were encouraged to contact the county office to express interest in advisory-board service.

The speaker restated public-comment rules: individuals are allotted two minutes and groups five minutes. Following a recent snow and ice event, the board provided a phone number (535-0905) and the county website for residents to report uncleared streets or mailbox damage.

The synopsis also reminded viewers that meeting summaries are posted on social media and that staff produce shorter synopses for people who cannot watch full meetings.
