Gunnison council approves canvassing minutes and adjourns special meeting

During the same special meeting where engineering firms presented for the Gunnison Park sports court project, the council returned to a procedural item: approval of the canvassing minutes for the 2025 election.

Councilman Warner moved to approve the canvassing minutes and Councilman Childs seconded. Roll-call responses recorded Childs yes, Warner yes and Anderson yes; two members (Stella and one other who had not attended the canvassing) abstained. The minutes were approved with three yes votes and two abstentions.

Shortly after, Councilman Warner moved to close the special meeting and move on to table talk; the motion passed and the meeting was adjourned.

The approved canvassing minutes will be filed by the city clerk and the council will receive the engineering scope and contract for the park project at a future meeting for formal action.
