At its Jan. 8 meeting the Eugene Police Committee approved several procedural items and recorded routine votes on minutes and the meeting agenda.
The body first voted to allow two public commenters five minutes each; the motion passed unanimously. The committee then approved the meeting agenda and, later, approved the December 11 minutes with an edit suggested by Sergeant Jordan; the minutes vote was recorded as 6 of 7 present voting in favor due to one member briefly stepping out.
In substantive business the commission unanimously adopted policy 4.11 after reviewing redlines and formatting corrections. The committee also reviewed an extensively rewritten stalking procedure (3.6) that clarified the differences among stalking orders, restraining orders and criminal stalking arrests, articulated a three‑day timeline for court paperwork and discussed victim‑services supports for court appearances. After discussion the commission moved and unanimously approved procedure 3.6.
Where the record notes specific tallies it reports unanimous approval; when a partial quorum was recorded it is noted in the minutes. No fiscal appropriations were enacted tonight; several substantive policy items (notably the sexual‑assault procedure 3.4) remained under discussion and were not finalized.
