Mount Olive board approves settlement in Fulmer case after closed session

The Mount Olive Township Board of Education returned from closed session on Jan. 20 and approved a settlement agreement and limited release in the matter of Tammy Fulmer v. Mount Olive Board of Education, docket number MRSL1588-25.

The board resolved to authorize the board president and board secretary to execute the agreement on behalf of the district and authorized the business administrator and superintendent to take the necessary steps to implement the agreement’s terms. A motion to approve was made and seconded in open session after the closed deliberation.

Roll-call voting on the settlement recorded the following: Mrs. Aquino — Yes; Mr. Petrie — Yes; Mrs. Brett — Yes; Mrs. Fitzgerald — Yes; Mrs. Melendez — Yes; Mrs. O'Neil — Abstain; Mr. Orzillo — Yes; Mrs. Figueroa — Yes; Dr. Giordano — Yes. The motion carried.

The board did not read settlement financial terms into the public record at the time of the vote; the business administrator and superintendent were authorized to implement the settlement per its terms.
