The City of Sacramento Civil Service Board on Jan. 26, 2026, adopted the director’s determinations in four separate recruitment appeals and elected Member Amanpour as chair for calendar year 2026 while retaining Vice Chair Stein.
The board opened the meeting by establishing a quorum, reading an indigenous land acknowledgment and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. After approving the consent calendar with no public comment, members considered four appeals of disqualification where the appellants did not appear.
In each case — the appeals recorded in the agenda as involving Brandon Casten (Equipment Mechanic I), Christopher Meyer (Accounting Technician), Craig (recorded in parts of the transcript as “Weiriner” and elsewhere as “Warner”) for Supervising Building Inspector, and Elijah Krivosci (Police Records Specialist) — a board member moved to waive formal hearing rules and to adopt the Director’s findings, determinations and decisions of disqualification. Each motion received a second, the clerk called the roll, and the motions passed. Roll-call votes recorded Members Manforth (aye), Bird/Berg as present and voting aye on the items called, and Vice Chair Stein voting aye; Member Mueller (also recorded as Mueller/Mueller is absent in parts of the record) was absent for votes. The board’s action effectively denied the appellants’ requests for reconsideration of their disqualifications.
After disposition of the appeals, members moved to select leadership for 2026. A motion to appoint Member Amanpour as chair passed; a subsequent motion kept Vice Chair Stein in the vice chair role for the year. Members offered brief remarks welcoming new council representatives to the board and thanking staff for their work.
