Council previewed Seattle City Light CEO vetting and public comment process

Councilmember Morris said the Parks and City Light Committee will begin vetting the anticipated mayoral appointment for Seattle City Light CEO and that members will receive an informational confirmation packet by close of business the day of the briefing. Morris said the packet will contain the department's charter, a chronology, FTE counts, budget and the CVs of the last three mayoral appointees to give context for the confirmation process.

He said the committee will hold at least two meetings as part of the vetting and confirmation process, and that both written and public comment opportunities will be available. Morris asked councilmembers to submit questions in advance and noted the mayor's office will assist the prospective appointee in answering committee questions during the process.

The council did not take any confirmation action at the briefing; Morris's comments served as a preview of the committee process and an invitation for members and the public to participate when the formal packet and schedule are released.
