Council asks staff to compare two design-guideline drafts before Planning Commission review

Speaker 1 said the City Council asked staff to prepare an apples-to-apples comparison of the steering-committee draft and the city's consultant draft for the Design Traditions Project so the Planning Commission can provide focused feedback on which format and content best supports planning staff, the commission and the development community.

“We got a small but mighty, scribe force team, made up of city staff and again resident volunteers polishing up that steering committee version,” Speaker 1 said. Staff intends to present both drafts to the Planning Commission and seek its recommendations; Speaker 1 said a special Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 to review the materials.
