Marissa, a city staff member, said the city held a second Car Week community meeting and thanked Chief Trejo for hosting and community members for attending, including representatives of the Carwick community. “So the plan is to come back, well the chief will come back to the Community Activities commission in February, and then to council in March,” Marissa said, describing the next steps for solidifying a plan that addresses community concerns about problematic nighttime activity during Car Week.
Speaker 1 said daytime Car Week activities have been generally well managed but said nighttime events have drawn complaints. “Nobody was happy,” Marissa said of community reaction to recent Car Week nighttime activity.
Marissa also updated the meeting on an ongoing street-address project. She said Emily Garay is the project lead and is working on assigning unit numbers for multi-unit buildings; the city plans outreach to multi-unit owners and a walk-in open house at City Hall so residents can see assigned numbers and ask questions. Staff provided an email contact for questions and requested patience as they field inquiries.
No formal decisions were recorded; staff described planned outreach steps and next review dates to Community Activities Commission and City Council.
