Commission to circulate draft strategic plan, pursue community coffee events and schedule pediatric presentation

The commission devoted part of its Jan. 29 meeting to community outreach and internal planning.

Speaker 2 reported on a Nov. 5 community coffee attended primarily by staff and a presentation from Brad Wood; she said Brad connected the commission to Grace McMahon at Family Scholar House and suggested trying another event in spring when weather is milder. Members discussed marketing alternatives and potential hosts such as Analog.

Speaker 2 also reported that Dr. Harris expressed willingness to present on pediatric care and local practice pressures but requires significant lead time because of a busy clinical schedule; members agreed to try to schedule her for a Thursday meeting when possible. The commission decided to circulate a draft strategic plan: Speaker 1 will send the draft to DJ and include it with the meeting minutes for member review with the aim of discussing it further in March.

Administrative notes included sharing login information for the new AJ HRC email account to let members track applications and incoming messages, and an agreement to shift the next meeting to March 26 to accommodate members’ schedules.
