Pike County approves post-community agreement with USA Waste Management subsidiary

The Pike County Fiscal Court approved a post-community agreement between the county and a newly formed corporation described in the meeting as a subsidiary of USA Waste Management.

The presiding judge said a corrected copy of the agreement was in the packet and moved to approve it; Commissioner Lewis seconded. The clerk called the roll and Commissioners Scott, Atkins/Adkins, Lewis and the judge voted yes. The judge said he would execute the copy and email it to counsel.

The court did not read the text of the agreement into the record, nor did it provide the subsidiary's corporate name or contract terms during the open session; the approval on the record authorized the court to execute the document presented.

The agreement was described in the meeting as related to solid-waste operations; staff follow-up and final contract administration were not detailed during the public meeting.
