Advisory members reviewed the branch checklist, recent branch visits and administrative reports, clarified a library card-renewal policy and completed routine business including approval of last month’s minutes and adjourning.
Branch checklist and visits: Members confirmed that advisory members visited all branches on Jan. 13 to complete the branch checklist and asked that dates be added to items marked resolved where possible. They noted that some items—such as elevator maintenance—are ongoing and may not have a single completion date.
Card-renewal policy and reports: A committee member asked about library card renewal frequency; another member confirmed that physical cards are renewed every two years while digital cards remain on a one-year cycle. Staff presented a bilingual biannual report covering July through December 2025 and said they are waiting for additional training with the city secretary to host meeting packets online without a login; staff reported prior technical difficulties with posting.
Votes at a glance: The advisory committee moved to approve last month’s minutes (motion and second on the record) and later moved and seconded a motion to adjourn; the chair called for the vote and the meeting was adjourned.
Next steps: Staff will update checklist entries with completion dates where appropriate and pursue the city-secretary training to host packets online for committee reference.
