Fishers City redevelopment commission approves purchase of two parcels after staff review of appraisals

Fishers City Redevelopment Commission members on Jan. 26 approved a resolution authorizing staff to move forward with the purchase of two parcels — identified in staff remarks as 8065 and 8605 South Street and 11425 Lantern Road — after receiving and reviewing two appraisals for each property.

Megan, a redevelopment staff member, told commissioners they had "received 2 appraisals for each of these properties" and that the commission had previously approved purchase of the area. She said the commission was being asked to approve the acquisitions now and noted that on one parcel "the appraisals for those properties were a little bit lower than the purchase price," but staff recommended proceeding.

The commission’s motion to approve the resolution to acquire the two properties was moved, seconded (Damon named as the seconder), and approved without recorded opposition; the chair announced the motion carried.
